Over the years as an analyst
and trader, I have found many websites that have helped
me gather news and data about the market and the particular
stocks I was considering in investing in and/or trading.
Below are listed a few of these pages:
Big
Charts - This is a good free charting site with
a variety of indicators and display options.
Free
Stock Chart Software - This site has various charting
software programs you can download and use.
The
Economist - A weekly magazine published in the
U.K. that, in my opinion, is quite simply the best
magazine for identifying worldwide macro-economic
and business trends, international business news,
political developments, technological developments
and much more.
The
Wall Street Journal - This is the daily information
source for what is happening in the Markets, both
domestic and world wide.
Barron's
- A weekly paper with great articles that is published
by the same people as The Wall Street Journal.
Yahoo!
Finance - Going to this site and typing in a ticker
symbol gives you a quick source for the basic fundamental
financials for that stock. The 'competitors' page
is particularly useful when comparing multiple companies
in the same industry in order to see relative valuation.
As Yahoo! is a search engine this is also a good source
for viewing a collection of news stories from across
the web for individual stocks.
Google
Finance - Similar to the Yahoo! Finance site providing
quotes, news and information about individual stocks
fundamental financial data.
Microsoft
Money - The 'Stock Screener' you can download
from this site is very powerful. I have used this
screener to find stocks by searching for various financial,
sector, market and fundamental values. MSN
Stock Screener
Briefing.com
- The free level on this site provides snippets of
information about various stocks and the Market updated
throughout the day. When I was Day Trading Professionally,
I subscribed to this site and had their page open
continuously on one of my monitors. Briefing.com is
loaded with of up to the minutes stock and market
commentary and analysis.
The
Motley Fool - Motley Fool's market commentary
site has many interesting features including their
'CAPS' rating system, which provides a good indicator
about the 'pulse' of what individual investors and
traders think about different stocks. A few individuals
cannot move the market much but tens of thousands
of them are a force to reckon with.
The
Street.com - A source for news, commentary and
advice about the markets, stocks and bonds.
MarketWatch.com
- Similar to The Street.com, and another good source
on the markets.
Forbes
- Forbes Magazine site.
CNN/Money.com
- Money Magazine site.
Kitco
Gold - Great site for news on the precious and
base metals mining industry and gives you the spot
price of gold 24 hours a day.
